What's New With This Release?
With this release, a new hardware platform is introduced -- Avaya IP Office 500 system. This highly modular system is well suited for the under 30 user environment using the built-in Standard Edition software. Through an easy upgrade license, Professional Edition capabilities and capacities are easily achieved. The IP Office 500 system can support up to 384 telephones, 40 Voicemail Pro voice messaging ports, as well as advanced applications through optional licensing: Conferencing Center, ContactStore, Voice Networking, Advanced Voice Networking, Interactive Voice Response, Text-to-Speech, and Compact Contact Center. |


IP Office - Small Office Edition
The IP Office - Small Office Edition is a compact platform specifically designed to meet the needs of very small businesses and home offices. In a single unit, it can provide a PABX with Auto Attendant and Voicemail, Broadband Access, Wireless Access Point (WiFi) and VPN tunneling. Voice Compression is included as standard to support IP Extensions or provide IP Trunks back to a head office. The IP Office - Small Office Edition is available in the following configurations:-
- 4 Analog trunks, 4 analog extensions, 8 digital stations and 3 VoIP resources
- 4 Analog trunks, 4 analog extensions, 8 digital stations and 16 VoIP resources. |  |


 | Avaya IP 406
Supports 6 Expansion Modules providing a combination of up to 190 analog and digital extensions, with capacity for 8 analog trunks or 3 digital trunks (72 T1/PRI channels and 90 E1 channels). Additional analog trunks can be provisioned using the IP400 Analog trunk 16 module. Features include 30 optional voice compression channels and 8 port Layer 2 switch.
Through support of up to six external Expansion Modules, IP406 can be enhanced to support a mixture of analog,digital or IP phones, to maximum of 190 phones in any combination. The number of simultaneous T3 IP phone calls is limited to the number of VCM channels available. If additional analog trunks are required, these can be aggregated in groups of 16 on each analog expansion module. |


Avaya IP 412
Supports 12 Expansion Modules providing a combination of up to 360 analog and digital extensions, with capacity for 8 analog trunks or 4 digital trunk (96 T1/PRI channels or 120 E1 channels). Additional analog trunks can be provisioned using the IP400 Analog trunk 16 module. Features include 60 optional voice compression channels and 2 independently Switched LAN ports.

- IP Office - Small Office Edition
The IP Office - Small Office Edition is a compact platform specifically designed to meet the needs of very small businesses and home offices. In a single unit, it can provide a PABX with Auto Attendant and Voicemail, Broadband Access, Wireless Access Point (WiFi) and VPN tunneling. Voice Compression is included as standard to support IP Extensions or provide IP Trunks back to a head office. Based upon architecture of the Small Office Edition, the unit supports 4 analog telephones, 8 digital telephones, and up to 16 IP telephones. Optionally, the unit also supports a T1/PRI and SIP trunks. There are two units to choose from:
- 4 Analog trunks, 4 analog extensions, 8 digital stations and 3 VoIP resources
- 4 Analog trunks, 4 analog extensions, 8 digital stations and 16 VoIP resources
- IP406
Supports 6 Expansion Modules providing a combination of up to 190 analog and digital telephones (of the 190, up to 180 telephones can be IP), with capacity for 8 analog trunks or 3 digital trunks (72 T1/PRI channels and 90 E1 channels). Additional analog trunks can be provisioned using the IP400 Analog Trunk 16 module. Additionally, SIP trunks are supported. Features include an 8 port Layer 2 switch and an optional 30 channel voice compression module.
- IP412 Office
Supports 12 Expansion Modules providing a combination of up to 360 analog, digital, and IP telephones, with capacity for 8 analog trunks or 4 digital trunks (96 T1/PRI channels or 120 E1 channels). Optionally, SIP trunks are also supported. Additional analog trunks can be provisioned using the IP400 Analog Trunk 16 module. Features include 2 independently switched LAN ports and optional support for up to 60 voice compression channels.
- IP Office 500
Included with IP Office R4.0 Standard Edition, the IP Office 500 system supports up to 32 telephones, with capacity for 16 analog trunks or 4 digital trunks (96 T1/PRI or 120 E1). Optionally, SIP trunks are also supported. With the IP Office R5.0, the IP Office 500 system supports 12 expansion modules providing for a combination of 384 analog, digital, and IP extensions. Additional analog trunks can be provisioned using the IP400 Analog Trunk 16 module.
The Avaya IP Office system includes a robust set of tools for administration (Manager), call tracking (SMDR), system monitoring and diagnostics (System Status Application), to name a few. Additionally, the ability for users to manage their own calls is supplied through a simple GUI (Phone Manager). Phone Manager functionality can also be enhanced through simple licensing and to support IP softphones.
Additional applications, such as synchronizing voice mail messages in Microsoft Exchange e-mail InBox for easy message management; scheduling conferences, uploading documents for real-time viewing, and managing audio privileges for conference calls; and agent reporting and PC wallboards for call center environments can be added when needed. The Auto Attendant application enables callers to route their own calls to the relevant department/person without the need to speak to an operator/receptionist. Receptionists/operators can take advantage of the SoftConsole GUI application to present a professional view of the business to all callers. TAPI (Telephone Applications Programming Interface) support enables IP Office to be linked to Microsoft Outlook and other popular desktop applications for screen pops and PC-based telephony management.
Investment protection is offered through handsets supported by several Avaya platforms, and provides a migration path that is forward and backwards compatible. IP Office supports IP and digital telephone operation, with large display desktop phones with sophisticated screen-driven feature access. Single button on/off control and menu driven displays are available for selected features for ease of use.
